Volkswagen Group France needed a centralized service letting approved garages and dealers order spare parts for the Group's 6 brands. The platform had to replace fragmented existing flows, offer a strong fluidity to its users, and become a strategic business lever for VGF.
Depending on their role, a user was not meant to see the same prices, the same stock, the same orders or the same features, with additional exception regimes to account for. The challenge was to make every user feel the platform was tailored to their use case, while designing a unified, coherent and maintainable solution for VGF. Interviews with target users and persona definition let me map the existing flows and needs.
After this first immersion phase, I ran the full functional framing: workshops to identify each persona's key journeys, the information architectures and the various technical-functional blueprints, keeping a coordinated approach that still reflected the distinct use cases to plan for.
I then produced the full wireframes, taking care to rationalize components to pool development effort. The central challenge was to present complete yet digestible information for users who would have no time to learn the tool. On that basis, I led the UI design team to create the final interfaces, then wrote the storyboards and edited the video tutorials so end users could get started without training.
