UX. UI. Design System.

How do you design a client portal that gives users a reason to come back from day one?

Diagnosis & challenge

MG Motor was launching its very first client portal, aiming to engage and retain its customers. The technical connection was at the heart of the brief, but the platform had to offer real functional value from V1 on, to create actual usage. It therefore had to give a concrete reason to log in, while sequencing the remaining functionalities coherently.

Framing & architecture

I led the entire functional framing: interviews, then co-creation workshops on the users journeys, the information architecture and the technical-functional blueprint. After this UX research phase, I designed the wireframes for the whole platform, building a functional, scalable design system able to carry both the MVP vision and the portal's later versions.

By anticipating the platform's target vision, I set the conditions for a controlled, long-term integration that anticipates error cases.

Foundations & tokens

To let the identity be applied over the long run, I created a design system founded on tokens: colors, spacing, typography and radii, declined in Desktop and Mobile. This base ensures a coherent, durable rollout, ready for the platform's future evolutions.

Components

On these foundations, I built a library of reusable components (buttons, fields, tabs, cards, notifications) the UI team assembles from one screen to the next rather than redrawing them.

Design system & UI direction

I briefed and led the UI design team finalizing the interfaces. This was the brand's first digital application of its new visual identity: beyond the screens, I laid down the design system that carries it, from tokens to components.

Founded at the wireframe stage and then extended to the UI, this system kept both V1 and later versions coherent, and served as a foundation for the brand's digital expression beyond the client portal.
